ARCHIVE LABELS

Three ways to see a shirt.

Use home, away and third as invitations to compare colour and design.

01

Read the label

Entries use the home, away, third or training wording found in the archive source. These labels help organise the references; they are a useful first filter when comparing shirts from the same club.

02

Compare the treatment

Look at the same elements across two references: the shape of the collar, the scale of a pattern, the placement of contrasting colour. Keep the image itself in view instead of assuming that every reference follows the same design approach.

03

Leave room for gaps

Some entries have only a title and a season label. Others include reference photographs. A text entry can still help you locate a name or a season, but it cannot show details that the archive does not contain.
